Formula Race Car Trial 1

The classic Formula Ford 1600 racing car is almost certainly the world’s most successful single seater racing formula and where future World Champions Nigel Mansell and Ayrton Senna first made a name for themselves.  This is the opportunity to drive a classic Formula Ford, fitted with racing tyres, on the circuit.  Experienced instructors who have either previously or currently successfully raced this type of car will help prepare you for this most enjoyable challenge.  

The course – upon arrival you sign-in and receive your wristband; race suit, helmet and gloves are waiting for you and then it’s familiarisation laps in a sports/saloon car driven by an instructor. A thorough safety and procedure briefing follows. Running through the flag symbols, vehicle dynamics and ‘what if’ scenarios and then a practical assessment with you driving the sports/saloon car. As you are strapped into your race car, the instructor will run through the car controls and reinforce the points made in the briefing. Once the engine is fired up you follow the safety car out of the pits for a sighting lap and then your session starts. At the end of session there will be an informal debrief with your instructor.
