Scarisbrick & District Armada – Plop Enduro

The ‘Plop’ refers to the Small Honda C90 machines which have been so popular over the years – particularly as cheap commuter machines. With over 100 million built, the machine is known as the bike that immobilised the planet. But with around 4hp, a single-make race series might seem like a strange fate for this commuter bike, but that’s precisely what makes the Plop Enduro such a fantastic event.

Established over a decade ago, the Plop Enduro is an endurance-style event for teams of up to four riders, all of whom must ride the Honda C90 (Plop). Its popularity is a testament to its values, as its prime intention is to raise vital funds for the Air Ambulance and the Blood Bike charities.

Each team's strategy has to decide when it must stop for fuel and rider changes, so there’s never a dull moment. Machines are fitted with a transponder which records the time and laps. The winner is the bike that completes the most laps before the chequered flag.
